This custom street rod is built around a 1951 Chevrolet pickup. It's been a project for owner Randy Rudrud of Plymouth, MN, for the past year.Rudrud calls the truck "Black Diamond"on account of its appearance. Diamond-plate metal is found throughout with the paint a deep black with "real flames" applied on the sides. The cab has been chopped by4".
Powered by a small block Chevy 350 engine that's been stroked out to 383 cubic inches, the truck develops about 360 horsepower. Fuel is delivered through a 750cfm Holley. The transmission is a GM 700R4. The ear axle is a 4.11:1 ratio Dana 60. Brakes are 4-wheel discs throughout. The frame is boxed in and features custom hydraulics which raise and lower the bed.
