This 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air 2-door hardtop is owned by Jim Christiansen of Rogers, MN. He bought it some years ago in Elk River (MN) after it had been restored and repainted a brilliant orange in Nebraska. The original engine was a 6-cylinder, but it has been replaced with a 1978 Chevrolet 350 cubic-inch V-8.The transmission is 4-speed from Ford and power is driven through a 9-inch Ford rear axle.
Wheels are alloy from Billet Specialties, while the tires are from Kumho, 215/25 x 17 in front and 255/60 x 17 in the rear. The interior, with a front bench seat, came from a Chrysler. While the car is composed of parts from Detroit's Big Three automakers, the exterior is all-Chevrolet. The owner is especially proud that the body, at 55 years of age, remains completely steel and without any Bondo.
